A Lifetime in the Making

OUR MISSION
SummRStar Gallery seeks to promote and showcase the rich variety of local and emerging talent, as well as offer select art of well-known national and international artists, working in a representational style (and including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and pottery). Through online marketing and group exhibitions, our goal is to offer a rewarding experience for art enthusiasts and to place the works of our artists in a wide range of private collections. We endeavor to further an interest in art within the community and build a reputation based on integrity and trustworthiness. We also strive to promote "visual arts" within the community by supporting local art institutions.
THE GALLERY'S HISTORY
My name is Beth Rossier and I am the owner of SummRStar Art Gallery.
I was interested in art from a young age. I was born and raised in Japan, and also had opportunities throughout my life to visit many countries. I was therefore exposed to art from many different cultures. I studied art and art history in high school and college.
My father was a missionary and a pastor. He was also an artist. He worked in various mediums - 3D multimedia, photography, metal sculpture. His real passion was woodworking and finish carpentry. Our home was filled with intricately designed desks, tables, lamps, vases and other items he crafted from unique woods he accumulated from all over the world. This was an art he pursued throughout his lifetime.
I worked in the mortgage banking industry for 40 years, but always held a deep appreciation of art, collecting works from various artists and different countries. Whenever possible, I would visit galleries, museums, art fairs and exhibitions.

Upon retirement, I once again pursued my artistic interests, taking classes and working in a variety of mediums. I always had the desire in the back of my mind to own a small art gallery one day. There are so many talented artists just within our community, and a gallery would allow me to promote and showcase their amazing works of art, as well as offer a few pieces of my own.
Now, living in an environment where I can view and enjoy art around me every day, and share that art with other artists, collectors, visitors and the local community is an honor and a dream come true.
